Redneck Parking,... nope, a DUI.

Sorry they are'nt going to pay the full amt. to repair your truck... did you have comprehensive coverage on your truck? maybe other (non-accident) elements of your ins. can make up the difference in the repair costs...

Spoke to claims rep yesterday from da Farm, she was going to send an adjuster out next week to look at my truck. She mentioned that if it was a total loss that da Farm's offer would not be that much different than what the lizard company's offer was,... and maybe even less, so I guess, I should count myself lucky that I am getting the $5K and 'maybe' the truck back from the lizard. See what happens,...
Da Farm quoted me NADA value without even looking at the truck which was $3900.

Here is a reply from my agent,... no call, no customer service,... just an email reply. I swear this guy has Banker's Hours too.
I am going to switch insurance companies after this,...
Good morning,
My sec told me you are not happy with the offer- what can you do?
I would suggest verifying the value of your vehicle by checking a used car website such as kelly blue book. Enter the information in reference to your car (use value for private seller). If there is a big difference between the offer and the value per the book- I would suggest contacting the lizard and ask to have a supervisor review this. Make sure they are aware of any up grades. If there was any prior damage (damage not related to this accident) they will subtract this damage from the settlement.
Another option is to contact da Farm claims and have them handle the loss. If you go this route, your deductible will be subtracted from the settlement- once a payment is made, da Farm will go against the lizard to try to get your deductible back.
What we can not due legally is to try to negotiate the claim on your behalf with the lizard ( we have to make a payment first before we can get involved).
Hope this helps!
I have done all of the things recommended here. Bottom line,... I lose. Maybe I can take the driver to small claims court?

Did you loose any time off of work for this? ie to go get a rental car? How about the gas mileage difference between your yota and that dodge they gave you? The only way your gonna be able to sue for any type of "pain and suffering" is if you have covered Tort on your insurance. If you didn't pay the extra for a limited tort/tort coverage your SOL.

Welcome back to the soap-opera fellas!
Just wanted to update the guys that were drooling with baited breath over this entire deal & wanted to hear the ending.
Just about the time of xxxtreme's last post, I had to fly out to Colorado Springs to work at the OTC. Man, what beautiful country out there!!!
Pike's Peak was awesome to see and you locals out there should be thankful. Also, I couldn't believe how many older Yotas I saw better looking than my old 93 X-cab Delux. Saw a nice, lifted, bed-chopped red 91-93 P/U downtown, that looked really sweet and a ton of older 4Runners hopping along. It was like, Toyota Heaven out there and it made me feel even madder about my situation.
Made a few calls in CO and got my insurance company. Their deal was less than the lizard company's offer by a few hundred dollars!
If I had gone thru da Farm, my rental benefit would have expired ,ceiling was $1000, (I've had a rental since May 30th,...>1.5 months). Storage fees were racking up at the body shop at $65/day... any insurance company at this point was looking at $1700 in storage for my truck which is just silly-crazy and money that could have been put towards my truck repair. I just didn't get the settling of a claim 'fairly' part, and wasting money from within an insurance company itself to pay fees,...totally worthless IMHO.
Got back from CO and ended up calling the Regional Supervisor/Manager for the lizard company, & started re-negotiations which were fruitful. He actually knew where I was coming from being an older Yota truck owner. I settled on $5400 and was able to yank the Alpine iDX rig (a $400 value), Alpine imprint system, Alpine bluetooth, fogs, switches, & mats out. Pulled the state stickers and tags and said goodbye to her. It was pretty tough letting her go and all,... kinda weird how I had become so attached to the truck, again it's a 'Yota-thing'. Somebody down the road at the Fredericksburg, VA auto-auction is going to get a really nice-looking truck that is running strong under the hood and has a lot of heart left in her at 174K miles.
When I was leaving the shop lot, one of the auto body techs came out and helped me for a minute. I asked him what he thought about the deal and he stated that to do the all the body work right, it would have been all of the $6K+ quoted. My mechanic told me it might not drive the same, nor look the same either once completed. I was surprised at the options but I was tired of being pulled here and there and had been looking at other trucks and Runners as a backup plan. Believe me, looking for a vehicle is exhausting....
After a lot of researching on web auto-lists, craigslists, ebay, and visiting 20 some odd dealerships in the NOVA area.... what do you members think I finally purchased?....

Oh,... btw I have a few items that I had available for the 1993 p/u 4 x 4. PM me if interested.
'82 Supra AFM,... works perfectly as it should,...yes, it's the right one for the 22RE.
OEM Toyota Fog light switch,... mint/perfect condition.
GMC/Denali tow hooks,...never installed.
Rancho My Ride System/Compressor (NIB),... never opened/ never installed.
1993 P/U Owners Manual,... perfect condition, no marks, scratches, folds or dog ears.
1993 Original Sales Brochure (colored/heavy paper) for the Toyota truck.
OEM Toyota Front Brake Pads (2 sets NIBs),... these are the orig. ones that come on the truck,...not the YZ-XXXX ones that are made of the metallic material that squeaks and are made for the Camry. There is a difference!
Thought I would offer these to the members here first before eBay. I have no use for them now. Again, let me know if interested otherwise, will post with prices in the classified section.

That sucks man!! I may have to let my rig go soon, she died on me, and it won't be feasible to repair soon. Glad you got something out of it, and glad you weren't physically hurt. I am interested to see what you picked up though... Come on, out with it!!

The brake pads (2 sets NEW) are yours and would be ideal for your 93 truck! I grabbed them early on as replacements for future use. The YZ-XXXX pads replaced the MB-XXXX pads. The YZ's squeeked and squealed as I recall and I jumped on these immediately. Again, no hard sell but i can't think of a better truck to go on than yours. PM me when you can and we can hook up,... you'll love the Denali tow hooks too,... they are sweet and BIG.

My P/U was a baby with a lot o' miles to go. Nice to see a V6 slo with dat kinda mileage tho.
Gonna try and keep the suspense up on my purchase....

None of these,...
The 3.0 at top is still for sale and VERY overpriced at $6500.
That Runner above was an accident victim with a repainted front fender quarter panel.
Let's just say that I had to go up in price, nothing around $5400 was going to get me anything decent and clean in NOrthern Virginia.
Dare I say, my purchase will put me off of this particular forum but not off the website,...

Spoke to the body shop today,... truck is gone (towed out Friday) but went to IPA or COMPRO down in Fredericksburg, VA. If seriously interested PM me and I can contact my adjuster for auction date, location, etc. Salvage on the truck was $1000 for me.
Oh,... body shop made $2k on storage fees. Catch my drift?,... it's all a scam for us older Yota owners. It's like better off to buy a newer vehicle sometimes.
Bottom line,... a Total Loss SUCKS!

NADA also says my 1987 pickup in clean condition is worth $2,925 high retail while my BMW is worth $2,430. Yeah I don't think so.
