It looks like there is a spring attached to the Big spring on the left of your pic, or is it just the angle

Haha, sounds great!! Now you see how the spring clips into the bigger spring, now you just need to thread the end of the little spring into the gear

yea, but i'll attempt that after I clean everything. Tomorrow i'll track down some snap ring pliers and take the dial apart. BEING EXTRA careful not to loose that ball that eevrybody talks about. THan im gonna scuff em up and paint them.

Good stuff, going with hammered grey?

And that little ball, mine simply slid out due to grease, but I have heard of them "shooting" out.

I dont know about hammered grey. My wheels are hammered grey, and I think I want the hubs to stand out a little. IM gonna leave the dials red, like they are stock. But im not sure about the rest. I MIGHT go with a silver color.

I THINK I'll leave the base of the HUB metal, like it comes from the factory. I'll just clean them real good. Than i'll do theouter part of the dial hammered grey and the part you turn (the actual dial) red. Than do all the words (LOCK,FREE) in white. I cna free hand those with a small paintbrush and model paint.

I doubt you really needed that rebuild kit

But post up pictures when you get everything together and paint them.

I wish I took pics of my hub re-build. I got too excited to wait for my camera

You can get all gaskets at the dealership, I grabbed them there.

The rubber o-ring is usually in fine shape. Not many people take these things apart

And the bolts can be found at any hardware store. I will find my bag with a few spares in it to make sure of the bolt kind.

*edit*

Here is the bolt specs

"M6-1.0x16MM " mine where labled as 1" M6x16mm bolts.

Me too about the dealer. I did break one of my o rings so I went ahead and got those too. If you want I can send you some bolts. I didn't know about the Downey kit and thought allen head bolts would be cool. Got 'em through McMaster-Carr. Black metal too!! But I had to buy 100 of 'em so i got plenty to spare. Let me know.
