Rear window interchangeability?
I have a 1990 regular cab with a solid rear window. I came across a complete rear slider out of an extended cab 1992. Are the two rear windows compatable.
Can I swap in the extended cab rear window to my regular cab pickup?

Yep, it will, bout the only differences is heated, or non-heated, w/o solar energy reflecting; bronze tint, exc. privacy etc. some had the solar reflecting, some dont, most had bronze tinting, some had the dark tinted glass.

Crud we just pulled one from the yard less than a month ago, 91 reg cab, 92 ex cab, it fit fine on the install in the 91 reg cab, if it was a shaved down slider, none of us could tell? Even the hollander interchange said it fit. I wonder what's the deal with the one we pulled/installed now.

Sorry to bump an old thread but.......I have a 93 extended cab 4x4 that has a busted rear slider. I bought a used one of which the seller said it came from a 90 Toy ext cab. I removed my old window only to find that the used window I bought it approx 1 inch taller than the one I removed. To be sure about the difference I removed the slider glass from the new window and compared it to the remaining slider from my old window and it is 1 inch taller.
Both have Toyota Glass so I would assume they are factory sliding windows. Is this 1 inch difference (or 1/2 inch if centered) enough of a differece to keep me from installing this? I tried for 3 hours using various methods to install it and it seems just a bit too big to get the seal to seat on the inside. Any insight would be appreciated.

The differences are 84-88 vs. 89-95 and regular cab vs. Xtra cab. 84-88 is slightly smaller than 89-95. Regular cab is slightly smaller than Xtra cab, all years.
79-83 is slightly smaller than all of those, and(of course) doesn't include an Xtra cab size.

So why is the rear window that is currently installed shorter than the one I bought from a 90 4x4? The window from the 90 will not fit, not even close, while the current one reinstalled with not too much effort. Is the rear window from a 89-95 regular cab larger than the ext cab? Does it matter if it came from a 2wd or 4wd? Sr5 or DLX?
