Washer Pump Motor???

I'm digging into all the minor details in my 87 4Runnah restoration and just discovered my washer pump motor is shot.

There is power going to it and the ground wire is grounded when the washer button is pressed.....but nothing happens.

Any sources for these pumps other than OEM? It looks like there are two available part numbers 85330-12320 (cold spec) and 85310-89114. OEM seems to be about $60.

Any other new ones out there that are direct fit? I'd prefer not to go universal.

Yes there is I use them all the time .

Fits right in the plastic housing

The only thing you have to do is connect the wiring

comes with a new grommet

Trico 11-604

I have used a few of these in the Celica`s and 4x4`s

Looks like the oem direct-fit part will cost about $18 more than the universal Trico part.

I got my last pumps out of Sienna vans. Just need to change the connectors on them. Sure a lot of other Toyotas washer pumps will work and are a lot newer then what is in your runner now. Another way I have gotten frozen pumps to work is by running some wires to the pump connections and reversing the leads on the battery back and forth. What you are doing is making the motor go forward and reverse and it will free it up. That has worked for me several times.

I will give this a shot. And thank you to all the other ideas.

I have not physically taken the motor or reservoir out yet....it was late in the day and I gave up after I probed the connector to verify the proper voltages were going to it.

I'll take it out and hopefully I get lucky. Might be something simple.

Mine only has 88k on it but the real problem is that it has been sitting since 2000.

I bought it for $300 in 99 because it was a rust bucket and you could put your arm through the quarter panel into the interior. I bought 2 factory quarter panels (only $300ea at the time) and two new fenders.

Went to college, forgot about the project, let the truck sit at my parents until last year and started fixing it up.....Its about finished and now I'm digging into the gremlins that have been waiting 14 years to show themselves.

UPDATE!!! I reversed the polarity a bunch of times going to the washer motor. After about the 10th time it finally freed up and now works 100%

Thanks for the tip!

Congratulations. Mine is still working 3 or 4 years later and still going strong with no problems as well.

I will have to remember this when I dig back into my runner (driving summer vehicles ATM).

My rear washer motor is dead.

It doesn;t bother me enough to fix.

But if I can fix it free by doing a little jump magic..

Thanks!
