4 hole 3.0 injector install, kinda broke something....

Hey guys, been here many times kinda lurking and stalking.... Kinda being a creeper. Well anyways I got the upper intake off and i was pulling out the fuel rails and when I pulled off the back crossover line the vacuum line attached to it snapped off on what looks like a sensor. This kinda sensor also had another vacuum line going to it and I an wondering if it's worth looking for this part or should I bypass it or cap it maybe? It just seems like I need some advice since the reason I'm changing to the flame thrower 4 holes in the first place is because I had a fuel leak and I'm looking for the source (which I have no idea where it is still....). Hey and while I'm on here where can I get these size crush washers? I'll head to the auto parts store tomorrow I'm just hoping they have them.... And if u have any advice as to where my fuel leak may be let me know! Again, thank you and I hope to start posting more now that I've stopped being the guy at the window and finally forced my way in and am now the guy in the corner...

Love,
Andrew

Oh yeah and these are the size crush washers I need... Please send me good vibes so I can find them tomorrow.... I really hope this is why I smelt gas at idle and saw it dripping fuel on the exhaust crossover, I'll once over it before I put the upper back on! Sorry for rambling my friends, happy trails!

Chow,
Andrew

Your local Toyota dealer will have those washers. Some auto parts places may have them.

I'm not a 3.0 guy, but I've seen plenty of threads around here where that sensor broke off the nipples just like yours.

The 3.0 guys will find this thread an chime in. Found this: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...sor-do-237236/

Thermal Vacuum Valve (TVV) or Bimetal Vacuum Switching Valve

You will only find it at a dealer. Some on this site (claimed to) have successfully repaired them, but I doubt you have enough good plastic left to do that. (I didn't) It drains fuel vapors from the canister into the throttle body; when the engine is cold is shuts off to improve idling. You can probably bypass it, but you may end up with a rough cold idle at times.

The component in that picture is the Fuel Pressure Damper. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...octite-266710/ It is a fairly common source of leaks. Alas, you can't tell if the part is bad without buttoning it back up again. But when you get the fuel rail back together, test just that with the FP / B+ in the diagnostic connector, BEFORE you put the plenum back on.

I've never found the crush washers anywhere but the dealer, but even there they're cheaper than dirt. Get yourself a few extras. They are one-time use; don't believe anyone who says you can re-use one. (There is a reason they are called 'crush' washers.)

I have broken two of them.

Search Ebay, they are out there used.

I have mine currently bypassed as I broke the damn thing just as I was finishing up last time when I put my engine in.

I will fix it this fall when I replace the injectors.

*I* know it's broken....and that is enough.

For what it's worth, I haven't noticed any issues with it bypassed.

BTW, they are quite proud of them new....hence my suggestion to find a used one.

How much do you save by replacing a $49.97 part with a used one from eBay? $20? $25?

Each to his own.
