The first thing you can do is post in the right section.

Then I would suggest getting some new coils in the rear or go for some airbags. I suggest searching these things.

It's a 94, it's in the right section. Cheap? um, cheap is a relative term. New springs & shocks will do the trick. I wouldn't call it cheap though, if you do the work yourself it'll definitely be cheap-er.

Edit: two of these @ $77 plus shipping http://trdparts4u.com/PD-OME-901.aspx?MakeID=1

& two of these @ $85 plus shipping http://trdparts4u.com/PD-OME-N72F.aspx?MakeID=1

That should do the trick, you might need to extend some brake lines but that's minor stuff. Looks like $400 or just under that.

Actually this should be posted in the newbies section ansd to level it out you need to replace the coils with either performance products springs or Downey springs. OME will actually cause the rear to be higher than the front by 1 1/2 inches like mine. As for shocks, I like my skyjacker nitros. $32 each.

I was under the impression Downey would make it higher in the back as well, I didn't know the OME would make an inch & a half difference over the front though. If he wants true level, air bags or custom sized spacers & coil springs would be the only way.

I'm using an OME steering stabilizer & it's beefy.

Go to NAPA and buy their progressive rate springs. They worked great on my '94 and cost less than $100 for the pair.

Were those a direct drop in replacement, no extending brake lines or anything? Did they level it out or raise it slightly? Sorry to hijack but I'm going to have to do a rear spring shock change out this summer on my '95.

why not add some bj spacers under there to help with the added height of the rear?

They are drop in replacements.
You do not need:

ansd to level it out you need to replace the coils with either performance products springs or Downey springs. OME...
Those are all lift springs, that is taller than stock height.
All you need to do is replace your old, worn out and sagging stock springs with some new stock height springs.
The NAPA's are fine and NO you don't have to extend brake lines or anything like that. All you're doing is bringing it back up to stock height as it was when it was new.

BTW, new shocks won't do anything towards helping the sagging rear.
Shocks are dampers and do not provide lift.

New coils in the rear from Downey level it out great, you can even move the t-bars up a bit in the front.

If you want CHEAP they have coil spacers for 9.95 little bracket looking things that you slip in and move a nut up or down. They can also be used to lower a spring. You asked for cheap. They dont help with performance at all, and your springs will still be worn out and will possibly yo-yo. But it will be level. I am using them right now until I get new downey coils, and they work fine but use them at your own risk. You can get them at autozone off the shelf even.

See that is what I have heard too. Is the difference in what we're all discussing here a matter of an inch or less or are we talking a readily noticeable difference? (BTW Fred, when I say I'm replacing my shocks & springs it's not because I think shocks lift lol)

My 4Runner only sits a little low in the back; I've seen others regard that slight sag as "wow that's really saggy" but it's not until it has a full load of fuel that it looks saggy to me; I'm not as nit picky as others are apparently. I want it to sit level with a full load of fuel or even a slight bit higher in the back - by slight I mean an inch or less.

Edit: sorry for the hi-jack but I figured you could learn from this too.

The NAPA springs, which I think are MOOG can't remember and the 4runner is long sold. The springs put it right back at stock, no more no less. The ones I got where progressive rate and rode sooo much better than the stock springs, by far the best bang for the buck.

Downey....well I just don't have much faith in their products anymore. However, their springs list at 1.5" so if you use them expect a little rake that can be evened out with a slight t-bar adjustment if you like.

I thought the OME springs in the link I provided were 1.5" as well. I have never used either OME or Downey springs. Moog is a quality brand, I've used their stuff before without any complaints (not on a 4Runner though).

i used the replacement springs available through autozone and i really like them. the rear of the runner (94) sits just about 1 quarter inch lower than the front still but i tweaked the front torsion bars so it would sit like that. it rides 100 percent better than with the stock coils. the replacements were actually shorter and of thicker material. when i first saw them i thought i would be taking them back because it wouldn't sit high enough for me but i was wrong. i think they are by "mcquay norris" also i did not replace the coil spring isolators (bushings) and the stockers are kinda crushed. another note, those coil spring spacers are no longer available at autozone. oh and i think i paid like 58 bucks for the springs.

holla!
