rear leveling coils on 94 4Runner

I have read a few threads on puting napa rear coil springs on 4runners to level them out or return them to stock height. I tried some TRW springs from Advance Auto and it only lifted the truck about 1 inch from the bumper stops. Is this about where they should sit or should I find a napa store to get thier springs instead? I just figured that an aftermarked stock spring is the same no matter where you buy it from.

I just looked at mine, NAPA springs, and it looks to be about 2"-2 1/2" off the bumper stops. I don't trust any serious parts from that place that you got your springs. The only thing that place is good for is shop rags, oil, handcleaner etc., well I do get front drive axles there and never had a problem but alternators, starters, brake calipers etc, you are MUCH better off going to a real parts house. Advance is for people who stay clean all day and don't know squat about cars.

x2, go to NAPA. They have lowered a lot of their prices to what Advancd and Auto Zone goes for but the NAPA brands are much much better.

I bought some 1.5 inch springs from allpro offroad. from what I have heard, they make the 4runner perfectly level and more capable of holding a load in the back. 20% stiffer. I have not received them yet, but i should get them in a few days, and i will install them as soon as I get them. i'll let you know how they are. I went to Napa and tried those springs, but they just didn't work for me. They were still a little bit lower in the back, but they did raise it up a little. I wanted it to look completely level, thats why I went with allpro offroad

I think your right about the Zone, Advance etc. Ill see what brand napa carries. I will probably lift the body where I think it is level and measure the bump stops and see where im at from there. If its over 2.5 inches my only option would be to get lift springs. I would not feel right by lowering the front.

advance

yeah never never buy parts, esp anykind of pump or cpu from advance..that mistake cost me $$$ on my jeeps. Dunno if you have rippy's autoparts there, but in tennessee, there really good, no frills, no airfresheners or steeringwheel covers, but good parts and people who know crap about them.
how much did the springs cost ya at napa, ive got a little sag, 1.5 " should do er?

I run a shop, my wholesale cost was $76 I believe they listed for around $130. I have seen a few people on here who got them for less though.

I bought the NAPA springs because they were in stock and I was ready to do the job. I also did not nknow yet if I wanted to keep the truck or sell it. Now that I have this forum for reference I think I'll keep this one instead of getting a third gen. I am already considering some that are 1.5" lift though. My truck is not "Perfectly" level but the ride comfort is outstanding compared to the way it was before.
