rear end clicks when throttle on or off

ok so this is my first post. My rear end is making a loud clicking sound when I go on the throttle or come off it. It Will make like 2 or three clicks each time and then stops. I just replaced my rear u joint about a month ago so I don't think that's it, but its making basically the same sound as when my u joint went. It sounds to me like maybe its coming from the pumpkin. I'm going to change the gear oil in the morning. Any ideas what else it could be. Its a 93 pickup with sas. Lifted on 35's. Thanks in advance.

I have a locked rear end. Also forgot to mention that when I take a sharp turn in 1st gear the you can hear it clicking pretty loud. But I'm going to change the oil first thing tomorrow. Any suggestions on what kind I should buy?

to be honest I'm not exactly sure. It was already installed when I bought the truck. I want to say its a Detroit locker? If I remember correctly what the kid told me.

Well that doesnt help.....

Are you gasing it or coasting around corners?

The clicking during sharp corners is normal for a Detroit, or similar, locker. The ratcheting mechanism is inherent in how they work. It shouldn't click getting on or off the gas while traveling in a straight line however, unless it's pretty badly worn or has some broken springs.

Coasting around corners it does it. Its always made a slight clicking sound but now its much more noticeable. I'll take it apart before I put more oil in today and get back to you guys on what I find. Thanks
