Rear Add A Leaf

I am Looking for a Add A Leaf Kit For My 88 4runner. I want to just keep my Truck "Level" with 33" Tires on it. Meaning I want to Raise the Rear to Clear Tires ok, Then do a Torsion Crank Job on the Front to Match the Rear. I Don't want to Crank the Torsions to the Moon. Because it makes the Truck Bouncy. I am Thinking I need a 1.5" to 2" Lift to the Rear. I want to Keep the Ride Good Though.

Any Ideas?

Oh Yeah, I am thinking About 33X10.5 BFG Mud Terrains. Do I even Need to Lift the Truck at All?? The Rear end Only Sags a Little. But, I Really Like the OEM Look. I Have to Keep this Cheap Because the Truck Is'nt in that Great of Shape.

Thanks in Advance

Don't crank the bars. Put the BJ spacers for the front and uses shackles in the rear. This will not effect ride quality at all and it will give you the lift you wanted. Look to spend roughly $100 for the spacers and $65 for the shackles. Add-a-leafs gives you a stiff ride and cranking the bars up does the same as well. Search for ball joint spacers and you will find everything you need to know.

I agree, go with shackles in the back. Ive got a set for leveling and I love em. An easy, safe way to gain a couple inches lift.

Don't need any lift for 33x10.50, so the shackles in the rear to level it out should take care of it. Keep in mind that you need to order a shackle twice as long as the lift you want. So, if you want 2" lift, you need a 4" shackle.

What sizes do shackles come in? I currently have a 4" Trailmaster kit.

THIS IS What I wanted to Hear! I want to Keep the Vehicle nice and Low. But, I wanted More Ground Clearance. This is Just a Central Ohio Trail Rig "Not a Rock Crawler" 80% On the Road 20% on the Trails "I Don't Want to Trailer it to the Trails" I think it's Alot more Neat when you Drive your Rig to the Trails! So you can Fling Mud and Stuff on H2's on the Way Home

I first installed the add-a-leaf on my old '88 and this picked the rear up to just about level with the front. My spring pack was almost flat on the axle.
With the add-a-leaf it gave it the arch back.
Then i installed some 1.5" shackles in the rear. This really raised the butt up.
Over all with the add-a-leaf and the shackle lift i was quite happy. The ride was really nice.
I picked up the add-a-leaf from a friend here on the board and i purchased the shackles from Central 4wd.

Here is a before and after shot.

Anyone know if the mounts on his 4runner are the same as the 00-04 tacos? I've got a 3" 4crawler shackle set to part with.
