R151f tranny for 87 4runner

I wanna put a marlin built r151f tranny in my 87 4runner...i wanna know for 100% if it will bolt right up and be good to go...i have a regular 22re...has anyone done it or know if ill be good

A 4WD transmission found in only two model years of Toyota trucks(not available in 4runners). [Turbo 22-RTE 1986 and 1987] Also 1KZ-TE Prado Landcruiser 9?-96. (also in 1KZ/T Hilux Surfs 93-95)

Ratios:

First Gear: 4.313:1
Second Gear: 2.330:1
Third Gear: 1.436:1
Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
Fifth Gear: 0.836:1

Yea i knew that but i wanna swap it in with my non turbo motor...would it work as i said i wanna be 100% sure bc i dont wanna have it shipped to my house and go to put it in and it doesnt fit lol

The RE and RTE both use the same block so it will bolt up fine to the motor. However, I think the RTE used a different clutch. The clutch in your truck may or may not work with that trans.

Yeah I think you need the 22rte specific clutch. But I think 92 and up 22re works too.

Clutch disk size is the difference in the turbo clutch, the rest is the same. The turbo clutch and flywheel are a great upgrade for any 4 banger truck. The output on the 151F is 23 spline to your stock case's 21, so you'll need to swap in another input gear or find a turbo case to swap in with the new trans. Swapping to 23 spline 4.7 gears in your case would be an option as well.
