I would say do the chevies now and save up for the SAS. the chevies shouldn't cost much and will still work with the IFS and flex mad!!

I dove into chevies rear and RUF on my 84 and i have been busting a$$ to get it done and i wish i could have done it in steps so i could tune the rear first then the front instead of going out with all new susp.!!

but you can do it i did my chevy rears in 18 hours, but i had to plate the frame majorly because i ripped the old spring hanger off!! and i fabbed every bracket from scratch so that added some design time.

Do the Chevy's first then you can reuse your existing rear springs on the front save $$$. Before you take anything apart, make sure to get the 9/16 bolts out of the Chevy springs first. That can take a while with penetrating lube and a BFH. After thats done plan on replacing the marshmellowed out factory 9/16's inch bolts with new grade 8 bolts. You might as well get energy suspension poly bushings for the Chevy's too, especially if you need to use heat to get them apart.
Good luck on the swap, it's an adventure.

How are you planning on using the truck?

Can you weld well enough to bet your life on it?

MY recommendation would be to spend all this money burning a hole in your pocket on gas and girls.

What tranny do you have? You should get 5.29's for 35's (steeper yet if you have an auto)

Do frt/rr lockers and you'll be amazed. No flex needed (almost). I'm certain a truck with a lockers will out wheel a SAS truck no locker.

x2

unless you go over big huge rocks, a SAS will probably not be near as beneficial to you as lockers/gears.

also, SAS should be one of the last things to consider. lockers and gears, armor, tires and lift, in that exact order, above all else, if you are really serious about wheeling. if you want to mall crawl (which is perfectly fine, 99% of my Jeep buddies are that way), do the lift and tires and forget the rest.

good luck!

When you did the rears up front, did you use the leaves as is, or did you add leaves to the pack? Did you use the stock hangers?
