prob with throttle/ maybe drivetrain?

i have a problem when im cruising about 20 to 30 miles an hour in traffic, it feels like im letting off the throttle then getting back on it and i have to accelerate faster than that or have to push in the clutch to get it to stop? and also when im on the highway and i let off the throttle it dosent just slowly drop rpms it feels like a strong lurch? im lost ive checked for vacuum leaks couldnt find any and maybe thought my throttle cable was to loose but adjusted that and no change? maybe something in the drive train like universals going out? help thanks

IF the TPS is registering IDL to the ECU even when the throttle is opened a little bit, this could happen.

Mine didn't. Yes, there is a procedure for checking outlined in the FSM...several links here online in various threads. One is even stickied about FSMs.
