Pricing advice on a 93 P/up

Hi everyone,
I currently own a 94 p/up but it's starting to fall apart. Want a more reliable one with less mileage, and a guy is selling his 93 p/up, sr5, v6, 5 spd., with only 53k miles on it. It has a 4" susp lift on it with new swampers. From what I understand, everything seems to be working fine (didn't get to test drive it yet). If everything turns out to be okay, how much do you think I should offer this guy for his truck. I think its a rare opportunity to find a truck with only that much miles on it and would not like to pass this up. How much would you all reasonable advise me to pay for this truck. Thanks a lot for all the future input.

Yeah, here in HI, Toyotas have a really high resale price. Any decent truck in that year averaging around 150K miles would run around 6-7K. Would it be ridiculous to assume that the truck would last at least another 100K miles on this low mileage engine even though it's fairly old? Would it be foolish to pay around 9K for this truck, assuming it will last me awhile? Keep in mind that HI's resale on these trucks are very high. Thanks for all the input so far.

well considering the kelly blue book on it is $7800 for Honolulu comming from a dealership, i wouldn't pay more than that.

You never know, it could be. I still have nightmares from a couple 4Runners I've passed up. I say offer him 6.

Although I cant really offer any pricing advice, i will say this. CARFAX CARFAX CARFAX!! Trust me, the $20 you spend for that is WELL worth it. Imagine finding out the thing has 150,000 miles, instead of that 54k. Even if the thing checks out, the peace of mind is more than worth it.

Well the guy is now asking 12K for his truck which is ridiculous, but people here are willing to pay ALOT more than blue book value for these toyotas. I definitely cannot see myself paying that much for a 13 yr old truck regardless of how low the mileage is. We'll see if he sells it at that price or close to it. Guess I just have to wait to see if he starts dropping his asking price. Thanks for all the input though. The sick part of it all is that he will probably sell the truck for a little under that price.
