Prerunner Drive Shaft Question/Help
Hi all,
first time poster/user here, in need of some serious help.
Got a 02 Prerunner 3.4L TRD & towing pkg, ext. cab automatic, and ran into/over a little problem. Whatever I hit took a small chunk outta the rear drive shaft yoke.
Insurance came out and said will cover it, but here's where the fog sets in.
Its a 2 pc. shaft with the double cardan u-joint, but the insurance of course only wants to replace the prop shaft, not the entire thing.
Is it ok to put a new prop shaft onto the old front shaft? IMO, it seems that the newer one may not balance with the older one or possibly create stress on the old one, but then again that's why I'm here, to hopefully get some solid advice from others who KNOW about Toyotas.
I appreciate any help or advice, have a safe and blessed one.
