Power Steering Sensor?

Hey guys. i have a 1995 4runner, 3.0 v6, auto trans., 4x4.

i just put a new motor in the truck and noticed that there are
two lines running off of what looks to be a sensor on the power
steering pump. does anyone have any idea where those two lines
are supposed to go?

any help would be greatly appreciated...

thanks,
Cid_4r

Those are vacuum hoses and they increase the idle when the pump gets loaded, so the engine doesn't stall. Sorry I can't help you with where they go. It's been too long since I drove a 2nd gen I can't remember exactly.

oh! If those are vacuum hoses one attaches to the intake plenum and the other one attaches to the lower hose attchement that also links with the intake plenum.

Typically they connect to the idle up valve (should have a plastic adjustmnt knob on top of it) with a connection to the intake plenum for a vacuum source. Here is the 22RE setup (the p/s lines are capped with red vacuum caps as my current pump has no VSV):
