I like it! How much lift do you have, if any? How well do the Duratracs perform on and off the road? I'm thinking about getting my own set.

The bumper looks great. What did you do for a finish? I just checked with a place in town to see how much they wanted to sand blast, prime and powder coat a front and rear and was quoted $650.00. When I add this to the price of the bumpers with shipping etc it looks like I might be better off buying one all ready done.

Nice truck! Are you running 31"10.5"15" still? What are the fender flares you have on?

Nice truck!
The fender flares look like FJ80's Clean.

Toyokev- I am unsure on the exact lift specs, as the truck was lifted when I got it. The front is stockish height, maybe a little lift from the T-Bars. I think the rear is a 3-4" spring, and Downey shackles- the truck doesn't sit level without the camper shell and sleeping platform in the back, but sits/rides perfect with how I run it 90% of the time. I like the Duratrac's quite a bit, also had a set on my old '02 Tacoma. They are markedly better all-around than my old BFG MT and AT's. Compared to the BFG AT's they are slightly louder on road, but feel more stable and smoother, good in the rain; they are also excellent in snow and seem to wear really well on lighter vehicles. I don't do any crazy trails, so for my purposes with the truck I think they're the perfect tire. They did pack up pretty bad on one recent muddy hill climb, so if you're in the mud a lot I might recommend something else.

SummitBeer- For the bumper, I just cleaned and scuffed the bare metal after welding, hit it with 3 coats of red oxide primer, and then about 7-8 coats of Rustoleum textured spray paint with ample drying time between coats. So far the finish has held up pretty well, and if I have to touch it up then it's easy to spray over. For the total cost I am happy with the result and would definitely recommend NWTI if you're bumper shopping.

Okay, cool, sounds like Duratracs will work for me.

I've always wanted a turbo truck, but have always been a little hesitant, i live in Oregon where its extremely wet 9 months out of the year and I've wondered if off roading could spell disaster if the turbo gets wet? I know they get red hot and a sudden splash of water seems like a bad combination. Is this a concern with having a turbo or am I over thinking things?

I see where you're coming from with getting the turbo wet, but I wouldn't worry about it. I've run mine pretty hard up in the mountains in snow, rain, and gotten my engine bay drenched off road without any issues. If you're super concerned you could look into a turbo blanket or some sort of splash shield. I would definitely recommend a turbo timer for these trucks, as it will extend the life of the stock turbo setup. Mine also seems to run the best with 10w30 Shell Rotella diesel oil, supposedly good for turbo seals etc. I'm not en expert by any means but it seems to be working well in my case.

To conclude 2016, I took my truck out to the Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport today to do some real wheeling for the first time.

My rear bumper almost touched the ground here:

Testing Google Photos Because Photobucket Has Gone Dot-Slow

Testing Google Photos. Photobucket is soooo slow now. Maybe lots of Pop-ups?
Camp at Franklin Lakes, Sequioas, CA...

Clicking the insert photo icon does not work, I had to use "source" view and put the link between "img" and "/Img" in brackets.

Standing on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona...

AHA! So... as it turns out, the real story behind the lyrics "...According to Jackson Browne, a girl cruised by in a TOYOTA PICKUP and looked at him and the image stuck with him. Browne had told Frey about the girl in the truck, and Frey then used the incident to add the line about the girl to the song". Wikipedia article here.

Yeah I can see how, "it's a girl my lord, in a flat bed toyota" didnt make the cut.
