How come you replaced the aftermarket bumper with a stocker?

It was a poorly built homemade bumper and I prefer the look of the stocker. I know the stocker isn't very strong but I don't need it for what the truck will be used for.

I can see that now that I look at it on a pc instead of a phone. The stock definitely looks better.

Flexin out pretty good there Chef! I should really ditch the sway bar on my rig.

BTW I don't know if you've seen this one yet, but being a sucker for red YOU NEED TO SEE THIS! It's like a freakin' unicorn, you'll be lucky to see ONE in your life if any.

Chef, I hate to tell you, but I'm currently working towards having it painted a dark orange. This color is too close to that of the Alabama Crimson Tide. I will pull for them so long as they aren't playing Tennessee.

I was worried about the sway bar being off because I still drive this thing on the highways quite a bit.

Hahaha... NOPE, not THAT bored .... Actually, isn't that bad to clean em up... And I do dielectric on all connectors, keep em clean and sealed, new dizzy seals(both o-ring and cap seal), etc., etc.... STILL, it's not 'good' for it, I hear ya... And far as all the work to clean it up? Again, I wasn't looking for it, lol... We'd been wheeling for around 5 hours by then... I was exhausted... and didn't wanna go around or back up(the road was like 40 yards from us at this point, haha)... But I DO NOT go huntin for mud.... NOT hating.. everyone loves their own facet of this hobby/way of life ....... I am more of an 'expedition' or 'creep WAY into long trails' with a few good challenges along the way' type dude... ESPECIALLY love adventures in the Sierras that lead after 40 miles into some Hot Spring or such !!!!! I PROMISE I will keep it mud free as long as possible, Mr. Sex!

OH MAN, ..... just saw one the other day... 3500$. Needed AC work and NOTHING ELSE.... But was in the middle of nowhere up on the Sierra Nevada byways, lol. LIL too far for a maybe, ya know? But STOCK, 159K miles CARFAX verified, etc. I haven't missed that sway bar at all. I still take the Angeles Crest Hwy without issue, etc.(ask Richard/Redeth, how my Truck handles the canyons ) Good to hear from ya bud!

............ how DARE YOU! hahaha.. JK... But really? Dark orange is nice... Not sure I've seen it on a 2nd gen... have on 1st Gens though... Anyway, interested to see it. Michael from Canada has one of the nicest 2nd Gens I've seen, too... Believe he's in the Canadian Armed Forces? It's red... know whom I mean? Far as the sway... I've not, as mentioned, had any real trouble... ESPECIALLY on the highway. BUT, I'm not running 48" tires! hehehe... JK... you KWIMean! Does make a difference to some degree, I'm sure. Hmmmm..... Try it out for a bit.

PS> I also have Downey/Mega Travel Upper Ball Joints.... NOT SURE how much they help, but they seem to have added an inch travel in both directions... Especially uptravel.

Hmmmm...Might have to look into that too. More travel is always nice I just can't commit to a Blazeland or a SAS yet. The ball joints are like the only thing I haven't replaced in the front end since getting the truck too. How much do those cost compared to normal ones? Also, without the sway bar, are you getting a lot more body roll driving around town or is it still manageable?

EDIT: Nevermind, decided to just take the stupid sway bar off today. It barely leans any more than it did before in corners, and it rides smoother, so it's staying off. Now to see how she handles off the road Saturday!

My 2 Door '90 4Runner

I am new to Toyota's and 4x4's. I have been into Hondas and was looking for one when I finally gave up and searched my local Craigslist for a 2 Door, 5 Speed and this popped up. I have owned it since March and other then my gas mileage change I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have had to change the Timing Belt and other maintence stuff but not tearing into the motor plus I can't complain at the price I paid for this Rare Runner. Only $1400.00

This is when I bought it

New to me 1990

Two weeks ago I picked up a 1990 4x4 22re 4Runner I had a very similar 92 model which was my fist 4x4 and i fell in love with all of it except for the 3.oh-no and the auto trans. Got rid of that after it failed emissions and went back to 2wd for a bit (97taco 3.4excab). The taco was a blast to drive but unfortunately was totaled by a redlight runner. I decided I missed 4wd too much so this is my newest daily driver. It's just as slow as my old '92 but is netting me 19mpg vs 12-13 . Worst part of the truck is an awful paint job that flakes off pretty easily if not careful with the pressure washer. I kind of like the matte finish though.

It needs alot of fender cut and alot less lift. Rear axle Should also be moved back about 12"
The tire size is good , only needs wider wheels.
