lol rworegon, I am actually pretty sane.

I grew up in southern Oregon on a farm and worked in logging and lumber mills. Then the spotted owl flew in and wiped out most of the logging industry. I moved around, LA, Alaska, Seattle and landed in Portland. I have been here now for 16 years and still have not got used to the big city.

Every chance I get I head over the mountains to the Void. Been going there since I was a kid. Then I got my first Toyota 4x4 pickup in 1983 and the rest is history.

That place is just amazing to me and I am heading there next month.

Below is Krumbo rock. It is located by Steens Mountain.

Either you're nuts or the picture makes it look like you're closer than you are...if that's a 4' snake, he can strike about 3'. Either way, good picture. The only time I will occasionally leave my side arm behind is when I'm out riding my 450.

And yes, Eastern Oregon is awesome. I spend a lot of time in Central, but I head East when I get the chance.

Well I didn't catch any snakes but I did catch a new to me 4Runner so I thought I'd join in the fun here.

That is a different snake. I have posted three different rattlesnake.

Is that Billy Chinook? What brand of camera do you have? It takes amazing color pictures.

Prineville Reservoir. Camera is actually just the one on my iPhone (4S). Pretty happy with the image quality so far.

I was talking about this one:

Seems way to close lol. Awesome picture though! You can even see the rattle shaking.

BFake - nice rig.

I am happy with your iphone too!

Prineville reservoir...Yes I recognize it now. Ochoo's FTW!

I was actually pretty far from that snake, because he was pissed. That set of pictures were taken in the same spot. I have a Canon 20D with two lenses, telephoto, and wide angle. I just used the telephoto/zoom for the second picture. And the snake moved just a few inches down hill in the second photo.

BFake, that looks like a fun rig!

Thanks, I've been having a blast with it. So much that I don't even have any pic's of it without mud all over it. I'm putting the headers on tomorrow, but I'll try to remember to put some clean pics up, took the top off yesterday!

Well since we're on the topic of snakes... Found this one while investigating a possible perimeter breach... Wanted to shoot it so bad, but I was pretty safe in my truck, and it would've made for a ton of paperwork. Not a great pic, I have more but this is the only one I uploaded. Southeastern CO.

This one scared the hell outta me last weekend. (FL)

BMcEL, I don't know if you're making a joke or not, but the typical strike distance of a rattler is only about 1/3 it's body length...misinformation about snakes can sometimes be very harmful.

Anymore pics of this truck? What about the specs on the wheels? They stick out quite a bit but I love the wide stance!!

I let her drive the Tacoma for the first time yesterday but not the 4Runner. I treat my trucks better than my women.

So were you trying to be harmful then?

Typical strike distance is actually anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 their body length...general rule of thumb is 1/2. Thanks though.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Will someone tell me the point on killing a snake is.
Pointless and cowardly I think.
