I only kill harmful snakes. Really only rattlesnakes. I have a curious 3 year old who would try to catch it and bring it in the house. I don't go out looking for snakes, but I don't mess around if I find one.

As far as the black snake goes.. no idea what kind. I'm new to FL and the critters around here. I'm sure someone on here could tell us.

Its harmful if you step on it or grab it. I know kids and snakes are a bad mix. You have to protect kids. As you can see I like snakes.

Yes I have seen that you LOVE snakes. More power to ya man. Used to work with a guy that breeds them.

And by harmful, "venomous" may have been a better choice. However, anything that bites me dies. Ants, spiders,..

Pointless and cowardly I think.
Rattlesnakes like to stay in areas with food and water. Campgrounds are a place they like because of the mice that forage on human's leftovers.

The only snake I killed out of the 3 is the one hanging on the tree and we ate him. It was in a pretty popular area not far from the paved road. A place where people camp very often.
I was even on the lookout for snakes but this one took me by surprise. Like I said, I just about stepped on him. He was in an area where somebody would not think.

If you never have had fresh rattlesnake, you are missing out.
Dipped in eggs and milk then rolled in flower with salt, pepper, and a little garlic and then fried! Very good!

The snake that I am holding in the picture was not killed but my brother in law wanted to.

We set up camp and it was about 110 degrees and the shade was scarce.
He set his chair right next to a juniper tree, about three feet away. We sat there and talked for about two hours resting from our long and hot trip before setting up camp.

As I was sitting there talking to him I noticed a strange looking stick at the base on the tree. He was sitting between me and the funny looking stick when I pointed it out to him. When he looked over at the stick, he jumped straight up out of his chair yelling "SNAKE!"

He ran for his gun but I already had a bead on it. After he calmed down a little (very little) I told him that we should let it go on it's way but he still wanted to shoot it.

So I told him that we are out in the middle of nowhere and this is his home. So I grabbed a stick and cowboy-ed him out from the tree. Had a great photo shoot and then let him go about 200 yards away.

After that, my brother in law put his tent way out in the open because that snake made him crap his pants. He was real paranoid for the rest of the trip because of that snake.

Here are the pictures of the camp, the tree, and snake. Notice the distances from the tree to his chair and where he ended up putting his tent. My tent is in the shade behind the pickup. The "snake tree" is on the left.

I want to live in your town

Also, cool 4Runner. I've never seen someone put the modern Toyota symbol on a 89-91 grill that usually have "Toyota" spelled out on it. Interesting...

Hey thanks man, Yeah I wrecked my truck a couple of years ago and decided to swap the front ends. I like the older version. Well to be honest I like the foreign version. And theirs has the older headlamps and grill with the newer logo so I tried to make it. I like it. Still has lots of work needed.
