You been having problems having to tear it down again?

I've finally decided to take my top off. This is the first time it's EVER been off, as far as I know. The previous owner said he's never taken it off, and the first owner, the one before him, had never taken it off either.

Then when i was out of town for Annual Training the Jack butt Got arrested for running from the cops on his motorcycle. Him and Dad were supposed to get my truck back drive able while I was gone for that 2 weeks... Yea i had to fix it when i got home because he was too lazy and dad wasn't going to fix his screw up. SO it took me over a month to make my truck drive able but it still isn't back to the way it was.
Don't you just love it when family screws up something and don't fix it, even worse when they screw it up, and sort-of fix it, and they don't tell you. Then it usually fails worse than it did when they broke it...

Any pictures of the damage?

I was wondering that too...

Why? The negative post on the battery works just dandy as a ground. Fires right up every time.

No the rack came with it. Most of the 4Runner was complete when i bought it for 3,000 bucks Yeah it doesn't fit in the garage with the rack on and just barely fits with the topper off.

only if the battery is discharged and not old

as a lead acid battery is used and charged, the lead plates disintegrate slowly. if there's enough lead sediment in the bottom, you could have an internal short (inside the battery). getting battery acid hot inside a sealed container is never good. if you jump to a point on the engine, and there is an internal short, the ground wires (not jumper cables) will burn up, and act like a big fuse. also, the starter draws it's ground from the engine, which needs bonding straps. jumping to the engine hook provides a better path

The ditch was in a new housing development that we drive through(gently as to not tear up any dirt work) to get to the mud pit and some small hills to flex on. They are right across from our house. It was a ditch for the main water lines. 4 feet deep easy. And no i have no pics. the guy that had them up deleted them off Facebook and i never wanted to save them.

It's ok that he didn't fix it completely. it means he owes me and he is a welder so it is a good favor to have anytime i need it. We help each other on all of our projects. I'm not even sure why he drove my truck. if he would have asked i would have let him.
