Well I just went through my first tank of fuel after my rebuild so hopefully it gets better. 13.5 MPG in 100% city driving. If I ever get on the highway it's bumper to bumper anyways. Mods are in my sig.

You're pretty much screwed if you don't have a 22RE. Before I parked mine, I was getting 23mpg with mostly highway miles going 70mph. 3.0's are way over-rated for the extra 34-70 hp they have. Their durability, and gas mileage have nothing on the 2.4's. Long live the great 22RE!!

Dude, no offence meant, but the metric system isn't the work of "socialists". Oddly enough, it's a system based on certain logical, scientific standards. Such as 100 centimeters to one meter. There are 1000 meters to a kilometer. Zero celcius is freezing, 100 celcius is boiling.

Not quite as quaint as the 12 inches equals one foot deal, and three of them to a yard. Then there's 5280 feet to a mile. Or freezing at 32 farenheit and 212 degrees for boiling.

Nice system.

And by the way, I get roughly 12.5 liters per 100 kms. Which would be approximately 22.6 miles per Imperial gallon, or 18.82 miles per US gallon.

As you can see in my sig line, I'm running a 3.4 liter engine with 265/85R15...er, 33"x10.5"x15" tires.

My calculations also show that 8 out of 24 posts, as of this writing, are by Canadians, giving you 33.3% (or 1/3) of the posts from Canada, not the 90% you claim. Don't forget the 1 guy from Belize, which is not part of the US.

Silly RobD. Almost every country that uses the metric system, (including Canada), has a socialist form of gov't. In America it's "We The People". In Europe,...and Canada, it's all aboot the gov't takin care of the poor people that can't fend for themselves. I'm not saying that we don't have those parasites in the U.S., but we like to think of them as the Al Gore lovin Liberal babies.

Post data to back up your claims that "almost every country that uses metric has a socialist form of government".

I'd also like to know how you figure that the Conservative Party currently running Canada is socialist? Aside from having socialized medical care, point out to me how the government runs the press or any of the major companies in Canada. We have social programs, but I'd hardly call our government 'socialist'.

But I guess if it wasn't for your flourishing drug trade, America wouldn't know about the metric system at all!

Well, just Wednesday put a full tank in and the gauge hasn't moved from being over the full mark yet after about 25 miles, but I'll post back up here once the tank's gone and I'll see where I stand... should be pretty good now, I went all of last week and then some on just under a half a tank, and that was with a good amount of miles too, but I didn't calculate it out cuz I didn't know how many miles or exactly how much gas I had in it. Got the info now though; put 14.765 gallons in at 284,008 miles, and at $3.319 a gallon, that cost me $49.00!

Gas prices suck...

When I take it out on the hwy for a trip I manage 18 mpg@65-70mph. The only information not in my sig is the weight.... 5000 lbs last time I weighed it at work.

I never check it in town as I only drive it 3-4 miles a day so it never even gets fully warm.

90 4runner / 5spd / 3.0 / 33's / no mods (exc lift) / 245000miles

11mpg no matter where I drive.

My old War Pig Suburban got better mileage...til the engine failed. Most dramatic, really.

Holy crap, there is a wide variety of economy here. I'm sure I could squeak a bit more than 22 mpg out of mine, if I kept my foot out of the throttle. I wonder why you guys are getting only single digit economy. I pretty much use Shell gas wherever and whenever I can. I find that makes a difference.

I'm up to 13 or 14 mpg now after changing back to 32x11.50s and 3.90 gears. I was down to about 10 with 35s and 4.37s, and it didn't handle as well as it does with the smaller tires on it (I was tired of filling it up every 100 miles too). the high gear/32" combo sounds like it wouldn't work but it lets me pull a fully loaded raft trailer up a steep grade at 70 without a problem.
3.8 Buick, 230 hp, big cam, lots of head work, automatic.
