Please help. Cant remove old shackles!

Hey guys, I'm in the process of installing my 1.5" lift shackles and have the backing plate off one side of the stock shackle. The bottom pin wont budge and I cant seperate the leaf spring from the shackle. All the tension is relieved from the spring and I've tried beating on it with a hammer. The top pin moves back and forth easily. I need help because this is my daily driver and I need to get around tomorrow.

I'd say just cut the sumbitch. Dont hit it with a hammer cause you are just going to mushroom it and make it harder to get out.

If you cant get it out still, just remove the whole spring and take it to a machine shop. They will have to press it out, and you will have to install new bushings.

I used a fire wrench on the 1984 I used to have. Worked great.

You only have two options, either burn it out, or spend 2 hours spraying it with penetrant and working the bolt back and forth with a large wrench and alternate hammering. I did this on the old set of chevy springs I got, it took me a couple hours, but I finally got them all out.

I got mine out by removing the loose end of the shackle then twisted the stuck end out. Liberal applications of rust penetrant softened the rubber and it eventually came out. What happens is that the shackle pin rusts and the rust combines with the rubber to make an enlarged section of the pin stuck inside the bushings.
