Dang, I miss a lot when I don't post around here for awhile... Well, at least a lot of pissing contests

A few months ago I went from my 31x10.50 BFG ATs to the same thing in a 33x10.50. I went and ran the same trails I did on the 31s and was thoroughly impressed with the increased capability. Plus, I don't like lift and all I had to do to fit the 33s is hammer the pinch weld and trim the inner liners a bit. That's worth it to me to give up the "look" of the 12.50s, plus the increased steering component life like Issac talked about. Personally, I like the look of the skinnies but to each his own.. EDIT: I'm running the 15x7" Taco alloys and in the wheeling pics below I was at 15 PSI. I got a little bit of a leak when I was hanging a hard right dropping into a creekbed but other than than that they did great.

TC has a set of 33x10.50's that are non BFG. Interco has them as well.

I think it might depend on the area of the country you look for them in (unless you order from a manufacturer). The local shops around here just flat said "No" to everything but the BFG's in 33x10.5 but that's because they can get them from Little Rock (state capitol, more stuff there) in one of the twice daily runs.

I can't even get Yokohama Geolander M/T's of any size, even from the Yokohama dealers around here without going out of state.

Mine are Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT, 33x10.50-15

As Isaac mentioned, there are several Superswamper models available in 33x10.50. Also, I think a couple of the Maxxis tires are availble in either 33x10.50 or 33x9.50, but not sure.

If you go to a 16" rim, your options open a little with the 255/85-16, most notably, the Trxus MT is available in that size.

The downside to the 16" rim is that I've noticed that the tires tend to be more expensive...

Order online. There are always places that have deals on shipping. I special order my tires, they take 3 weeks to get here.

The best "deals" I've seen put the prices higher than what I can get locally once you count in the shipping. I asked my local tire shop about online orders & they said they would & they usually don't get charged shipping but it depends on the e-tailer.

Got any particular places in mind? I tried tire rack but that's a no go, to expensive after shipping & no difference for the dealer.

Umm, it's owned. I was lazy and put off building sliders for it until it bit me. But, since I don't want to lift it much I'm probably just gonna cut them off and boatside that sucker. We'll see.

Hijack off... Tall skinnies.. Do it!

When my Nokian 31x10.5s wear down, I think I might go for 33x9.5 or if i can't regear, then 30x9.5 BFG ATs. I think that the complaints about BFG ATs hydroplaning probably are from people who have wider tires. Skinny tires don't hydroplane as easily obviously. Here in BC that's a big issue.
