Pickup Coil Interchange: 1988 v. 1992?

I need a new distributor pickup coil for my 1992 Toyota Pickup Truck, 22RE engine, 2.4 liter. I found a 1988 Toyota Pickup, 2.4 liter, at the salvage yard and put its pickup coil in the 1992. Codes cleared. It starts. But I know the ohm rating of the two pickup coils is different. Can I drive the 1992 truck with the 1988 truck's pickup coil and not destroy the igniter?

Update: The lower resistance pickup coil from the 1988 salvage yard truck seems to be working fine in the 1992 truck.
