Passenger window stuck closed

Hi Guys

Ive spoken about this before but now its serious, yesterday afternoon, friend put passenger window down and then when we got out i said leave it down cuz it was very warm outside, then when i went to drive it the window wouldnt go up...nothing i can do will make the window go up?? last time this happened i played around with the window and something just "popped" back into position by the door lock lever but i cant get that to work this time, i stripped the panel off the door with no joy....can see anything....when i press the button for window to go down i can hear a little activation noise in the motor but nothing when it goes up.....

you reckon its a motor?? is there a way i can get this window up?? power to the motor some how??? as i was lucky last night as it didnt rain but i may not be so lucky tonight

First, make sure the switches you are using are good. They may not be getting any power. IDK much about electrical systems, but I do know they fail.

Second, check if the motor is any good? I've had 3 wear out on me.

Third, check if it is on the track correctly. It may have a problem there that is making the others seem like the process.

I think you should actually check if the windows are on track before the motor. I'm not sure though.

ok heres the latest, ive done some phase testing....the switch is getting power...the motor is getting power but no joy...i hooked up a battery to the motor itself and the motor put the window up no problem so motor is working fine...im stumped...now if i press down on the switch it will go down but if i press up it wont....ive tried the switches from the 2 back doors and they dont work, i have my back windows unhooked and have had since i bought it so i dont know if they ever worked...reckon it could be the switch at fault???

Sounds like a bad connection in the wire. Just take a hammer to it. That usually fixes things right up!

I used to have this problem on my 86. I finally figured out that inside the switch it starts to get some sort of build up and makes it not have a good connection. On mine if i took it apart and cleaned the switch it would work fine until it started to build up again. Hope this helps.

I would start by taking the door panel off and really inspecting the setup. You could try using a motor from the drivers side to see if it is in fact the motor.

Maybe it just doesn't want to go up or you have a faulty wire/build up in there.

Take it apart and let us know how it works out...
