passenger side power window problem
i have a 93 sr5 and today all of a sudden my front passenger side window wont go up. I put it down when i came out of school and that worked fine but it just refuses to go up either using the button on the drivers side or on the passenger side. All the other windows work fine and so do the power locks, and the passenger window will still go down but just wont go up. Up to this point the passenger window worked great but wouldnt go up(and possibly down i cant remember) when you had the passenger door open, maybe its supposed to do this i dunno. I havent really checked anything out yet just thought i would throw this out there before i start tearing it apart. I can see it being either of the switches since it doesnt work on both sides, cant be the motor because it still goes down, and cant be a fuse because the rest still work. Any ideas?

I had the same problem a while back with the back passenger window and it turned out to be a broken wire somewhere.. I ended up taking it to an auto elec and getting it fixed for $80! Not worth the hassle ripping the car apart to find it.
Cheers.

My truck does the same thing every once in awhile. The problem with my truck is the window lock and if I press it several times the window will work again. I haven't had time to see if the window lock can be bypassed but I intend to take the window lock completely out of the circuit. Try that first before tearing things apart. Good Luck

no need for any of that, the problem fixed itself, my kinda repair
. I went out just then to have a look, pressed the button for it to go down and nothing happened so i thought the problem had gotten worse. After pressing it down a few times it went down and came back up fine so the problem seems to be solved. it would appear to be the switch but it wouldnt work with the switch on the other side so im guessing it is a wire somewhere but until it completely breaks im not going to touch it for fear of creating a whole new set of problems. I rank working on a toyotas electrical system up there with getting shot in the face.
