Hey guys and gals. I'm trying to tighten my parking cable but i can only loosen one of the adjustment bolts. With one spinning and the other stuck how do i break the loose one free? Any ideas?

you can always adjust you shoe spacing inside your drums. through the little slot on the inside bottom of the inner part of the brake housing. just click and clic until you have a ever so slight contact sound from the shoes to drum while turning the wheel. hope this helps

A good penetrating oil like PB Blaster or Kroil should help (not something like WD40). Apply and let it soak in for a few hours and give it a shot.

Where do you live? This has a lot to do with how well/how long your park brake lasts. I just freed mine up a few weeks ago and it was a pain

I live in Vermont. Nothing on cars like to last around here except the rust. I think i'll have to replace the whole cable. From the P brake cable to the rear. I just replaced the front section and it worked great for a few weaks than it stretched out. Thanks anyway.

something else you need to take care of with these is the little fork on the back of the drums where the p-brake lever sits... it likes to rust and seize you almost have to grease it monthly to keep it working here in the rust/salt belt...

before you adjust the parking brake cable you need to make sure the brakes shoes are properly adjusted.
