Does it reduce back down from 2.5 to 2.25? I was just reading that it might and I was kinda wanting to run 2.5 all the way through.... I know its cheap but this is just stage one engine build

I have a pacesetter header I bought last year. Bought it from a place on eBay. It was already ceramic coated. Great fit, great finish. No problems at all. I believe their quality problems have been fixed.

yes it reduces to two and a quarter and goes to cat fiange.connecter pipe also has place for oxygen sensor.mine is carbed so i made a blockoff plate..of course you know you need a larger exhaust pipe and muffler to see the benifits of it?kenny

Pacesetter headers
Howzit guys. Im new to this but have been building yotas out here in hawaii for years now and every truck ive built ive always put pacesetter headers on my 22r ..i always go to the auto parts store and get high temp engine paint with ceramic and coat the ˟˟˟˟ out of em 4 or 5 coats and ive never had a problem with them not fitting or cracking. .we might not put our rigs thru as much as you guys do on the mainland but can't be to much of a difference except elevation. .but thats my story and im sticking to it

I just installed a pacesetter on my 89 22RE, the part itself seems of adequate quality and material but the hardware that came with it was crap. the bolts they sent for the flange were not long enough to get the nuts started they nuts were so deeply staked that you couldn't turn them more than half way onto the bolt. I dislocated one of my short ribs while laying over the fender trying to torque the first flange bolt, so much force to get it to twist. I bought longer bolts and lock washers, way easier. it had the "shop coat" on it, which burned off in minutes. Now I'll pull it and paint with high temp. Overall I like the header, just not the hardware.

I had a set of pacesetters and they make a pinging noise at certain rpms. Other then the noise they worked for me. I will go with another brand next time I go with headers.

I bought my 85 with a pacesetter header newly installed by the PO. Could've just been bad install, but it leaked around the flange and often rattled against the bellhousing. Not sure if headers can be clamped to the stock bellhousing exhaust bracket, but mine wasn't which caused some exhaust studs to pull out. Definitely find a way to clamp it down near the collector.
I put up with that setup for 6 months before going back to a stock manifold and downpipe (clamped to the bellhousing), replaced the deleted cat and instantly noticed more torque, smoother idle and quieter exhaust.
I'm sure that header can be made to work, but the stock parts aren't bad at all, IMO.
