overdrive light bulbs

I can not find the damn bulb that I need. Anyone familiar with them? They are small bulbs with a twist type connection and a little colored rubber cap over the bulb. I can't find them at any auto stores or online.

I believe the one you are talking about is a 74 wedge bulb, it pulls out from the twist lock base.

Thank you James. No parts store knew what I was talking about or had any in stock. I've ordered them.

Cancelled my order, I found some and they are wrong. Too big. The stock bulbs in the twist lock bases are very small, I pulled a bulb out and it ressembles an led in size. So thats what I did. I bought 2 leds from radio shack, they are bigger and are the style that mount on the dash and be just about flush. They fit in the hole the twist lock base covers perfectly. Just fed the wires in the hole, and pushed em in to recess em'. Used my meter to determine positve and negative and soldered the leads to the board. These have flexible wire instead of the led's with hard leads. They had a few colors in the 12v leds. I got red for the off light and green for the overdrive light.

Toyota wanted 11 Dollars and change per bulb. No way I was paying that.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
literally!
I have the same problem and after looking at them for a while I pulled the bulb from its base and came to the same conclusion: and LED bulb will work perfect! I will get some and post pics of the replacement process.
