Outer trim piece

Hey people! thank all of you that helped me out with my rear window problem...but now i got another... the outer trim piece that goes on the outside of the truck around the back window is rusted out on mine. i have a brand new piece..... but i cant figure out how to get it in. Can someone tell me how you get the old piece off? Do you have to take off the roof? im pretty much puzzled.. thanks

I thought it just kinda pops off with a little prying, I do know there are some screws behind the inner panneling.
I have to redo mine myself, Its been hanging loose on one side for about 5 yers now.

Go through the inside pannelling, YOu have to start with the one with the light in it first then pop the inside ones away from the wall.
As soon as you start with the one with the light you will see the screws holding the top section, They should be phillips screwheads but also may be small hexhead.
Im going to try and get mine off this coming weekend, I will take some pictures and hold them if we dont have a how to on getting to that rim or even the rear winsheild whiper motor on second gens.

i went through the interior paneling and still could not find a way to get that stupid thing off. it almost looks as though i need to take apart the whole window assembly.. i might just take it to one of my dad's auto body-friends and watch them do it.
