anyone running OME 900 or 901 coils on there 2nd gen 4runner? If so how well do you like them? how well does it ride? also how much lift did you get?

I have the 900's, and I love 'em. I pretty much always have 300-600 pounds of stuff in my Runner, and I've gone to the point of packing pretty much everything I own into it. Best guess, 900 pounds of crap, and it's never sagged enough to bottom out constantly on the bumpstops, plus they flex pretty well. A decent amount of body roll, but I have no sway bar up front and didn't get extended links for the rear one, so it's not 100% effective now. If you don't do anything to the front, it'll probably have some rake to the stance, but not anything I found unbearable. I hope that helps some, but if you need to know more, like Tubby said...look in the lift guide.

trust me... your gonna love em...
i suggest getting a really soft shock to accompany them, tho... they are incredibly stiff, and i cant imagine them with some stiff shocks too...

Yeah Mak, you better be expecting to load your rig down quite a bit. One thing I've learned about OME, when they say HD or med duty, they really mean it. The HD's I have on my '87 Pathy are a lil rough riding, even with the med duty OME shocks. They still flex well, though, so don't let that be the thing that makes you shy away from the 901's.

Space, I love my springs, and the med duty OME shocks I got to accompany them! I didn't want the rig any taller than it needed to be, so I got as low of a lift spring as I could find that was guaranteed quality. I was going to go with the Eibach 1" springs, but apparently they don't make them anymore.

thanks for the replys everyone...also would it be ok to keep the shocks i have know, they are rough country 0-1" lift...if so would it be ok to do light wheeling?

I think they should be ok. When I removed my stock shocks, the axle really didn't drop much more before the links bound up. Maybe 2" max. The OME shocks are only longer than stock by 2" max as well. I would still recommend getting the OME shocks down the road to match the whole rear setup. They are designed to go together, after all.

I'm running the OME medium rate springs with the Nitro Charger shocks. Love the setup. Brought the ride height up in back about 2", so it leveled the truck out. They ride well when empty, but really make a difference when loaded. Truck stays more or less level and rides very nicely, for an 18 year old vehicle.

I am not sure which ones I have, they are the medium weight ones which I think are the 900's. All I can say is they are kick ass! I always get comments from other 4runner owners how they like the stance of mine. I didnt have alot of sag in the first place but was not a big fan of the "natural sag look" that they have. Id say it gave me about 1.5-2 inches of lift. Just enough that the truck needed to be lifted a bit in the front. Id recommend 1.5" ball joint spacers as they will give you lift in the front to match without screwing with the ride of the vehicle. Also if they give you too much lift in the front just down tune your T-bars a bit which will give you an even softer ride and easier flex. Some people can get away without BJ spacers, however, and cranking your t-bars works too, just makes the truck ride stiff. As for the OME's, like i said they are awesome, they are great on the highway as my truck doesnt have as much roll as it did with the original springs. They are awesome for offroad, soft enough to absorb bumps and give you lots of flex but stiff enough that you can carry alot of gear. Defenitely get the matching shocks though as they are designed and calibrated to be used together. Heres how mine currently sits.
