Old fuel contaminated EFI.

Old fuel contaminated EFI.
I recently resurrected my son's '86 22RE 4x4 pickup with the help of some folks here. I've now resurrecting my '87 4Runner, but I let it sit too long. I replaced the fuel pump, which got it to run, but it had a dead miss. I had a fuel leak at the fuel pressure damper, so I replaced it. I still has a miss, but it's better. Will replace the fuel filter in the morning. Feels like ignition, but it ran fine off of carb & choke cleaner sprayed into the throttle body. I'm overlooking something, but can't figure it out, and don't want to throw parts at this one like I did the '86. Are there other EFI components that may be contributing? TIA

I wondered about the injectors. The miss is pretty rhythmic, so it sounds like a "timed" component, like ignition, or a fuel pulse. The injectors make the most sense in that case, if it isn't the ignition. Thank you.

I pulled the plugs while the engine was idling. I could pull 1 or 4 with very little difference on idle speed. Pulling 2 or 3 shut it off. Swapped the plugs, tested it again, with the same results. Going to check compression out of curiosity.

Consider putting the inductive pickup of your timing light on the plug wires. If the light flashes, the plug fired. Switching the plugs was a good idea, but you could have bad plug wires. Or a bad distributor cap. It's a cheap and easy test.

It was the injectors. I used a set of Standard Parts injectors from Rock auto. They're US made, and about $55.00 each. A little different design, I was told the original tips allowed for some build up, and these are recessed a bit. Thanks for the replies.
