Hope this is in the right subform. I recently came across a used 3RZ that was pulled from a 4runner. It was cheap enough to where I knew to buy now, and ask questions later.

I've currently have an 89 Pickup with the 22RE and IFS. I've got everything lined up for the swap...except the oil pan. Ive done some reading and have a couple of options.

1. Solid Axle swap. Not really feeling it. I just replaced all the bushings about 2 years ago, and it rides really well. I'd hate to undo all that work, but if I have to, this will probably be the last ditch effort to make everything work.
2. Cut up the old 22RE oil pan and splice it with the bolt pattern. This will probably what I would consider option 2 if I can't find what I'm really after. I've heard of people doing this, but haven't heard of how it worked in the long run.
3. An oil pan out of an IFS Hilux with the 2RZ/3RZ. Part number 12101-75090. I've heard this is a plug and play situation, and works without body lifts or anything. Bad news is it's discontinued. I've searched hi and low for the past couple of months. Partsouq, Amayama, Japan4x4, etc. No luck. At this point, I'm just waiting for someone to find one in the corner of a warehouse somewhere, or let go of one from a previous project.

I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone has one of these pans laying around they'd let go of, or would know of any oversea's junkyards where one might live. If you have any other input as well, I'd be open to it.

So this is the pan that actually came with the engine I bought. If I had a solid front axle, it would work, but I have IFS.

 

So you need a front sump pan and pickup tube and dip stick?That should have come on the engine if it was out of a 4runner or tacoma. The t100 came with the rear sump setup. The Tacoma and 4runner pans seem to be available all over

 

Sorry, I'll try to be more clear. I have Independent Front Suspension on my pickup currently, and to my knowledge, none of the US based oil pans will work. The front sump that came standard on the 4runner/tacoma, doesn't work with any swaps, the t100 rear sump. oil pan only works with solid axle swaps. I need a special pan that came off of a Hilux oversea's. The one that is discontinued.

 

If it never saw USA/North America application than Toyota USA's National Warehouse would never bring over from Japan. So the odds of finding one here in the USA will be a challenge. It's possible, sometimes military personnel have vehicles shipped from overseas, but still....

I think your best bet is to religiously check, via google, that part number "12101-75090 Toyota" and wait for one to show on an international site, like eBay in Japan. Make sure to add "Toyota' with the part number.

Partsouq and Amayama are legit, i've used them both and they do a great job. But once Toyota discontinues a part number it's a done deal. Yoshiparts often makes people think they found a holy grail discontinued part, only to get an email a few days later telling you "nope'.
You might run across a Russian or Ukraine site shows a phased-out part being available. I highly encourage avoiding them. They are often scams

 

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. I've got a couple of saved searches that will alert me of new findings. Funny you mentioned Yoshiparts and the other oversea's drop shippers. I think I'm personally responsible for all of them adjusting their parts inventory on this specific part.

Yoshi might be a drop shipper, I don't know much about them.
Amayama, Partsouq, Carmarka, etc are different. They are hooked up in someway with the Toyota subsidiary in their country to get parts close to the cost from TMC (Japan)
Toyota USA (TMS) hated these companies, and referred to them as "gray market". Genuine parts, but outside proper channels, and at prices well below what the dealer had to pay to get through Toyota USA
