Question Oil Gage

I have a 1995 runner with the 3.slow. My question is, at an idel, hot enging, the gage reads about 1/8 up. When driving it reads a little bit higher. Is this normal. On a cold start. it reads about a good 1/4 up. info please.

it will always be a little lower when warm than when cold, and higher when you drive than at idle, but as for where it should sit on your gauge, I dont know...

yup, thats exactly what myne reads. it never goes over 1/2 on the gauge, even on the interstate. unless i'm revving it over 4000 rpm, then it will get to about 1/2. oil can have an affect on it too. i use 10w30 high mileage. if u put 20w50. the gauge reads much higher
