odd noise from rear

when going slow and turning, hitting a bump in the road , or going over a speed bump, the rear of my truck makes a loud creaking noise... what is it? only think i can think of is the leaf spring bushings.

Definitely a bushing back there.

Spring, sway bar etc...

But once you replace one.....you will be replacing them all.

my spring shackle bushings were completely shot (you could tell from looking while they were still inplace), and it would make a loud creak while backing over a bump even at slow speeds.

You can look for any obviously worn bushings, and spray silicone lubricant onto bushings to see if it quiets it up.

It could be the plastic pads between the leafs that are worn down. A little grease between the leafs may help you for a while.
