No spark issue 1990 3vze
I am new to the forum. I think I have read every post that could lead me in right direction, still not running though.
I bought this pickup 3vze3 about a week ago ran good drove it home was running fine. I got new tires put on it, changed the oil and put a starter on it because it was bad when I bought it. I then drove it down the rode after changing oil and parked it in the yard. I disconnected the speaker in das and in back as the were in bad shape. Went out next morning and all the truck does is crank no fire.
iI have checked fire, none. Put a new efi relay, new ignition coil, new rotor cap and rotor button. Nothing has changed.
Everything I have read seems lime people get different fixes. My head is spinning right now.

Why did you replace all those parts? What was wrong with them?
What do you mean "checked fire, none." Does your timing light show a spark pulse on #1? On all plug wires? On the coil wire? Do you have 12v to the + terminal of the coil with key-on?
Did you retrace your steps in disconnecting the speakers? If that's the only thing that changed, you probably knocked a wire loose in the process.

I replaced those because what I have read they can be often arw the culprit. Those parts were also cheaper beside coil so it was a shot to see if it would work. It didnt. I am not a godd troubleshooter and this is first toyota truck I have ever owned. So I am shootin in the dark sord.

Isn't the starter downstream of the 80A fuse? Since Chadfenton talks of "no fire," I assume that he is able to crank the engine. Wouldn't that mean the 80A fuse is good?
The 30A fuse is in play, but he can instantly check that and a lot of other important parts by checking for voltage at the coil.

"comp," meaning computer or Electronic Control Module (ECM)? Yeah, that's a great idea. The injectors won't open and the spark plugs won't fire, but other than that it should be just fine.
Everyone on this forum wants to help others (like you) get the most from their truck. But you said you're not a good troubleshooter. Would a real mechanic be a good investment for you?

No I am a sheetmetal mech for a living. I feel pretty confident in my ability to actually do the work just confusing as you lnow what trying to understand why it would run fine then just have no spark in AM. I bought an igniter it will be at store in mornin see if that woks. I did the no spark condition test on distributor, coil and igniter. I think its the oroblem but not 100%as sure its that. Seems like several people have had otherrelays and ground issues that cause problema like this. I dont think it is any of them though

Well I have put a new distibutor cap, rotor button, ignition coil and igniter. Same reults so I guess i need to check wiring and see if there is a short. This is the most ridiculous thing I ve been involved in. How does truck run fine shut it off and then next mornin just looses fire.

1990 3vze no spark issue
Have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor is good, ignighter is good. I heard this could be the maf sensor, my buddy had the same prob and replaced the maf sensor and fired right up. Any thoughts out there?
