no kick down in transmission
i have a a 1994 toyota 4 runner 255000 miles on it had transmission issues before mostly shift solenoids
the other day the check engine light came on (tps sensor) no 5 volt signal at reference wire it was bad so i replaced it
now the transmission has no kick down does it have any thing to do with the tps sensor
when testing the tps signal i noticed there was one wire with 12 volts on it what is that for??

A few periods, or commas, in that sentence might help.
Your transmission is electronically controlled, and the TPS is an important input. If the TPS is not working correctly, it probably won't shift correctly.
Do you know how to test the TPS? http://web.archive.org/web/201108151...93throttle.pdf

I think you have mixed up your notes. TPS has four wires, none of which should have 12 volts. VAFM has five wires one of which is battery voltage.
If you really have 12 volts on Vcc at either you've shorted a few wires together or your ECU is faulty.

tps only has 4 wires. and one does have 12 volts on it. and i didn't short out any of the wires
could one of the injector wires be shorting to one of the tps wires giving me 12 volts??
they do run throuhg the same loom.

There are a lot of wires it could be and they all run thru the shared engine harness..
