No full throttle power

I have a 93 pickup with a 3.0L VZE and 5 speed transmission. I go the truck with a brown head gasket (both were blown actually) I put the truck back together and found it has a few problems. My main concern however is that it seems to lose power when you open the throttle all the way up. I had the timing set to ten BTDC like the book said and the problem got worse. When I crank it all the way up the problem gets better but doesn't go away completely. the truck also throws a code, 43 and I know it has a cold start injector issue to fix. Also the thing guzzles gas about 7 1/2 to 8 miles per gallon, only a 155 to the tank. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm new to Toyota's.

Check your timing on the belt? Could have something off by a tooth.

Double check that you have all your grounds connected.

Double check that you have all of your connectors plugged back in to where they go. Could have forgot to plug something in.

Also check that you dont have any holes in your air intake piping

Ditto to the above. Also:

Make sure your TPS is correctly adjusted.
In addition to ground connected, are they CLEAN & SOLID.
I'd worry more about the distributor being off a tooth than the timing belt.
Is your VAFM within spec?

I'll check the distributor again but I got two engine codes: 42 and 43 and when I dial the timing way up it runs pretty well, does anyone know how to test the ECU I'm checking grounds but so far they seem good, I'll try opening and cleaning them to see if that helps.

Just found this in the FSM, R.M. 1995::3vz-e Engine: Mfi System: Diagnosis System (4RUNNER), about code 42 and code 43, page 5. It mentions that if you have reset your ECM, you must drive the vehicle at or above 10 mph, otherwise code 42 and 43 will store.

tried that but it didn't seem to help, I put a test light on it without the jumper just to see if the timing was advancing at all. even without the jumper the timing didn't move not down to 8 at idle like it says or anywhere else, I think somethings up with the computer.

Check the throttle position sensor.
