No 4WD Light

94 PU 4x4 5spd 22RE, 4x4 indicator light does not work, swapped in a new instrument cluster with tach, still doesn't work, any ideas, is there an electrical sender on the transfer case?

There's a connector that is on the passenger side of t-case. Check to see if plugged in. Is an sender there too. Mine doesn't work but it is the cluster, to make matters worse I got dual sticks and forget to put it into 4wd.

I have a 94 4runner and there is a sending unit on the front of the ifs to the right of the diff that had its wires ripped apart when i bought it that was causing the 4x4 idiot light to not come on.

Listen to this...

My 4wd light did work when I bought my 4runner, so I looked underneath it at the transfer case and sure enough there was something unplugged, neatly zip-tied away though.

It looked like someone unconnected the plug unpurpose, I cut the zip-tie and re-connected the plug to my transfercase.

Then my 4x4 light started working, but my truck wouldn't go into 4x4.

So I unplugged the plug again and then it could go into 4x4 but the light on the dash didn't come on...

Why do you think that happened?
