So I just built a roof rack for my lights I've had sitting here for ages, put it all on, take it out a night to test out the new lights, only to find out I get brutal glare. i've seen many trucks with setups like mine, but never heard of this issue, I know if I was to make a shade to go under them it would resolve the issue, but that looks lame. The lights sit about 4" behind the top of the windshield. What have I done wrong?

 

Are they driving lights or fog lights?

take the hood off and paint it flat black ?

 

I don't think it's a reflection issue, if I put my hand out the window under the light the glare goes away. I'm thinking I may have to made a small shield that sticks out

 

question, where did you buy the lights?

 

You'd think the driving lights would have a beam concentrated enough to not give you any glare. Don't know why you get it then.

theres not really a magic fix for it and its not that hard to realize what to do to fix it. move them back, dont use them, or build a shade like you said. dont know what other advice anyone can really give you ya know?

 

move em back. or mount em on the bumper. driving lights are designed to shine light everywhere, much wider than fogs
