Arrow new guy needs help!

Hi guys have been visiting the site for a while now so I thought I would join up. Now as for the help, I have just finished rebuilding my carb 22r engine and am having lube issues. I prime the pump start the engine and get good oil pressure (around 20-25 psi at idle ) run it until it reaches operating temp then shut it off and leave it for 10 minutes. Then come back and start it just to find I have no oil pessure at all! I have checked the pick have run 2 oil pumps (1 new 1old ) checked the pressure relief, changed the oil filter and can't seem to find a solution to my problem. Not sure if anyone here has come across this problem before but any advice or help would be appreciated. thanks in advance raylux

First of all are you using the stock electrical gauge??

Have you pulled the sending unit out and installed a manual gauge to see what the oil pressure really is ??

What have you been using to prime the oil pump??

your probably loosing your prime via an internal leak....check the sump pick up/strainer gasket..check all gaskets in the oil system...whats happening is your grease is sealing the leak and allowing your engine to prime initially but once you shut it down and the grease is gone the oil will now drain out the leak (wherever it is) back down into your pan causing you to loose your prime.....i know this is an old post but hopefully the info will help someone
