New 4Runner Owner
Hey guys, I'm Colin in San Diego and I had to get a 4runner. I bought a Subaru STI back in August and I love the hell outta it, but when i realized that i could ALSO get an older truck and keep the subie nice and clean (no racks, dirt, etc) for only $4/month in insurance, i had to start looking. well i recently found my 1988 4runner deluxe. needless to say i'm stoked. got it for a great price, 1700 w/ a remanned engine 60k ago, and all toyota parts used on repairs...nearly everything.
so if anyone wants to do some san diego trails anytime soon, I"M GAME! below are some pics of my babies...4runner and subie
cheers. glad to be aboard.

eh, 08s are completely different cars almost. definitely much more refined and not nearly the "racecar" that the 06-07 and previous are. i consistently beat 08+ sti's at the autox by 2-3 seconds...LOTS of time in otherwords. junk
not a fan of hatches either, but to each his own of course. i like fast though so i went with the best option

yep, but the sti isn't as raw as say an evo VIII or IX...which is not a real comfy street car. i find the sti to be the best balance and with a capable driver, a better weekend warrior car than the evo. the evo is definitely the better raw car though. i was looking at the IX and X and the STI won me over in about 2mins...great car, i love it.
