I find it amazing people try aim so-low on pricing of these old rigs. More so, the general population thought that an old truck just isn't worth the time, when its the opposite. An old truck can be renewed and have life put into it and be amazing rig. Yeah, don't let those guys have your truck.

I've only had my truck for a month now and I must say I like it a lot. I've some tough times building rig already but its a fun truck to drive when I have her all together. It will be kinda of bitter sweet when I give the truck to some tribesman at the conclusion of my rally from England to Mongolian, but hey at least he will develop the same feeling of, "There is no way I am getting of this truck! (translated in Mongolian of course)"

kinda miss my 85 4runner

when i think about it i miss my 85 4runner got it for a steal rebuilt and broke a lot of things. then when i really think about it i had to put two transmissions in it. it burnt oil like no other had a brake issue. one side of the paint was a differnt color slighty off really annoyed me. and it seems like something broke every other week. and it had 250k
i like my current truck. much better beside the ifs part

(all cleaned up)

That's an awesome looking rear bumper! Is that from badland bumpers? It looks like theirs and I haven't been able to see the price on the site and haven't gotten around to calling.

Anyways, I couldn't agree more with this thread. Love my second gen and would rather rebuild the whole thing then ever replace it

I'm new to the forum but not to toyota's. I had a 94 extra cab 3vze I bought when i was 17, kept it for 11 years. Sold it in 2008 because it had become a 3rd car we were not driving. I've regretted it everyday since, to the point that ive annoyed my wife about it enough to let me find another. She recently admitted to missing it too. I'm determined to find another pre 94 extra cab truck in good shape. Need my camping vehicle back and just need a truck again.

Runs-on-4 - Is that a real daytona in the background?

I'm not exactly a discriminating owner. If I find a vehicle to be cool, I like it.

Plus, I had a better ownership experience with the Jeep. Not that I hold that against Toyota, a used car is a used car.

Well, I just got my 1990 4runner back after three months....
yes it has had the gasket replaced, the heads smoothed, even hoses, radiator stuff and bolts things for the exhaust manifold replaced.....
I think it IS time for me to get something different.
Its been lifted and seems to work but I think distance made the heart less fond
so if anyone out there is interested in it please email me.....
specs? V6 stand 4wd 4door 250,000 km
ready to sell it now to a true blooded 4runr fan. I am in Oregon. make me an offer 4runr@hush.ai

Wish I still had this one. Was my first car, and to date, the only vehicle I've held onto more than a year. I ended up trading it for a Samurai that had been swapped to all toyota running gear (22RE/W56/Single case and Toyota axles) on 35's that I tore apart and started to build, then parted when times got tough and I realized that what I really want is a tube buggy and that sami was never going to be one. Samurai is currently a partial frame behind my shop, just bought an 86 after wrecking the '70 C10 I had been daily driving.

80's Toyota 4x4 trucks have gotten so rare were I live I would never sell mine. I've had offers from 30 people in the past year, they see it in my driveway and try to buy it. I told one man he couldn't afford it. Lol

Don't ever sell your pickup or any toyota truck, I think about my 98 everytime I see a similar one. Don't EVER sell your pickup if it was built in Japan especially.
