lol, i cant believe i spelled urgent wrong....

if you havent seen my other thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ng-bad-176857/ i took it apart and moved the timing chain over a tooth. so now the dot on the sprocket is even with the colored link. but in doing this i took the distributor out and now i cant get it back to where it needs to be. how do i set this thing to the correct tooth? i have been trying different configurations for the last hour and it just wont fire. please help!

 

1) put the engine at TDC

2) put the dizzy in your hand with the rotor pointing pretty much strait up at 12 o-clock

3) slide it in, and the rotor should rotate roughly 45 degree to the left and point towards #1 plug


if you're doing that and it's still not firing, I'll bet you're not putting the engine at #1 TDC. In that case, turn the motor over one time. Easiest way to tell is if you can see and feel that both rockers are loose (the intake and exhaust valves are closed) on #1 cylinder while the timing tick on the crank is pointing at 0

dude im not having fun with my timing chain somehow it like jumped like 4 or 5 teeth so ive got to rip it all apart tomarrow yay in a sarcastic voice but i dont think it screwed up my valves so im glad with that but ill have 2 see
