The Truetrac is a LSD locker, not a lunchbox. They do not affect cornering, and they make no noise. You will never even notice that you have one (or two) until you need more traction and you can now go places you could not before. They work great in the rear and front, no matter what hubs you have. Manual hubs are much better in my opinion though.

The torque converter in an auto doubles the available torque at low RPM (smoothly transitioning to 1:1 at higher RPMS), so you normally can put HIGHER gears in an auto. With the Toyota trannies though, the damn overdrive is so tall that you won't be able to pull the gear, so you have to put MUCH lower gears in if you have an auto or the overdrive is worthless.

Lysmachia has 5.71 with 35's, and she still is at lower RPM in overdrive than I am in 5th with 33's and 4.56.

I agree with the above - anything less than 4.88 is too tall, 5.29 for 33's with an auto.

so would 4:88 be ideal for a 5 spd daily driver with 33's?

You're good for 33's then.
