need help tranny swap
hi all new here, got a quick question. curious to know if you can swap a manual shift transmission from an 84 4x4 extracab pickup w/ 22r into a 93 4x4 4runner w/ auto tranny and v6.

bell's are different between the 4cyl and 6cyl so that would be a no, plus wiring would need to be fiddled with (ie. neutral safty switch / back up lites and whatnot), you would need the pedal assembly, all clutch lines, clutch, flywheel, probably cut a bigger hole in the floor...and more, it can be done with a stick out of a v6 truck but its alot of involved work and time to get everything right

I don't know about Marlin, but Inch Worm has what you want:

Marlin sells adapters to put 4CYL (geared) cases on a V6 tranny. Manual tranny for sure... don't know about auto.
You will need the 3.0 tranny adapter and at least one 4CYL top shift case. Need to get a 23 spline input gear to match up and handle the torque from the V6.
I'd also recommend getting the Marlin 4.7 T-Case gear. That thing is very sweet. Of course, dual cases give you the most options and is probably the best way to go if you have the coin.
Edit: Marlin has been messing with some gears and such for the chain driven cases, but I don't think anything is in production yet. I have heard about a few people using prototypes over on the Marlin Board.
