Need Help To Identify Turbo Tranny ( Auto)

I just pick up a complete turbo motor with tranny. I was told the tranny was stock. My auto has been giving me some trouble's. What are the different's in the turbo tranny over the A340F ? Any way to verify that it is a turbo tranny ? Thanks.

I think the turbo 340 has a couple extra clutch plates in it. But I have no hard info to confirm that or how to tell them apart for that matter.

One easy way is the transfer case has a cooler.

Thats odd , the tranny that my truck ( 92 22re ) had originaly had the cooler set up. I had to swap it out and wound up with a tranny that didn't have the cooler

I remember reading somewhere that the turbo tranny had a different number of splines on the shaft.

Hmm, mine is a non-turbo 22RE and I've got the cooler.

In the tranny section of my '86 FSM, that was the only thing I saw that mention the turbo.

All autos to 95 have tranny coolers, both V6 and 4cyl.

The manual trannys have 23 spline Tcase input shafts.

But not all have the separate transfer case cooler, about the size of a soft ball.

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but I had to rape one since I cannot start one!

I lately bought a 1KZ-TE complete with auto tranny and ECU off a 94/95 Surf. After having it fitted and all, and I can also say it pulls like a train, I started wondering what type of tranny and transfer case I have: 21/23 splines? Chain/gear drive? What mods can I do to it? Can I fit dual transfer cases? Or can I just fit a transfer case from one of the old(er) manual trucks? (LN46 or similar)

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
