Need 3.0 and tranny for my 95 4runner

Can anybody help me find a used 3.0 and tranny for my 4runner. My mech. says they are bad. I think there is a bad push rod caused by the tranny going bad. Does this sound right? I have about 135,000 miles, which is pretty young by many peoples standards. I have owned for less than 10,000 miles. Could this be rebuilt? Is it worth it to rebuild. I have looked for damaged vehicles to find them, but no luck! If anybody has any help or answers, I will greatly appreciate it.

Almost anything can be rebuilt.

How would a bad tranny cause a push rod to go bad? Push rods opperate valves...

Take the tranny to a TRANNY SHOP. Take the engine to a shop that does engine rebuilds. It kinda sounds like you are getting bent over for a bill.

I think the tranny was not shifting(auto) causing about 4500rpm on the highway, the trans temp came on, and shut down engine and the engine was making a light slapping noise. thanks Shawn
