My Truck stalls when placed in gear

Hi folks I need some help....My truck s an 89 3.0L 4x4 Automatic. I start her up and she idles just fine...then I shift her down into reverse and she stalls out.... I start her up again and quickly shift to Drive and she stalls out on me again..... what gives????

Sounds to me like you may have bought a Ford by mistake. Just kidding, man. Sorry, I don't mess with autos. But I'm sure someone will be along shortly to assist you. Good luck.

I have been looking into this; could it be the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR?

FORD? no way man. I have owned this truck since 1989(It was my dads).
