my truck (pics)
OK I promised a while ago but I only recently figured out how to do pics. I only have a couple, I need to get the rest from home to work (no high spped at home)
These are all before I started to mod the truck for the bush. I will hopefully get some new ones on in the trip section in the not too far distant future

those pics are nothing. I will have to try and get the rest up, We have some awsome ones of the mountains but they are on our good 35mm camera. This place is my favorite place to wheel. It is upstream from my cabin anout 20kms (12 miles)

celica...not to hijack but i was reading in your sig that you have advanced the timing on you runner...how has that worked out for you? by the way...nice looking rig...i vote the stream picture for the next calender...

The timing has been great. I first did it when I was driving my celica and working back parts for the mechanics. I advanced using the old school method by tuning the engine by ear. when I hooked the timing light up to it I was suprised by how far off I was per the manual. I took it out for a run and it made a difference, I tried it over and over to make sure it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me. Not a huge increase but it was noticable.
When I got my 4 runner I drove it stock for a little. I had a plow mounted on it and I needed a little more grunt down low. Again I tuned it by ear and had the same results. It seems just a little harder to stall and has a little bit more pick up & go. I have mine advanced to about 12-13* btdc. The factory should be 10*btdc. Give it a try, I think you will find it runs just a little smoother.
I had actually put it back to stock 10*btdc when I took the plow off and I noticed the loss in power and it didn't seem to run just right. I put it back to the 12-13* btdc and I felt like I had my truck back. Using the stock 10* I had a hard time breaking the back end loose, with it at 12-13* I have no problem - that is with 31" tires
